2013 Beauty Favorites

Hiii Bellas!

First, I’d like to wish you all a Happy New Year! I hope you all have a year filled with happiness, love and laughter!

Instead of sharing my December favorites, I thought it would be fun to include my entire 2013 favorites. This was challenging as my favorites change from time to time! But I’ve separated my favorites into categories.

2013 Favorites spotlight

My favorite full-coverage foundation must be Estee Lauder’s Double Wear Foundation. This foundation is matte and covers all of my imperfections. Because it’s a heavy foundation, I apply it mainly for special occasions. Warning: it does take more time to remove this foundation so make sure you remove your make-up thoroughly!

Vichy DermaBlend Ultra-corrective Foundation Cream-stick – though this is a foundation stick, I love using it as a concealer. It has SPF 30 and is non-comedogenic. It’s the best concealer that covers all of my imperfections.

Giorgio Armani Master Corrector – I’m obsessed with this corrector! I always apply it under my eyes before my concealer, as it is the only product that can really hide my dark under-eye circles. However, I’m almost out and I tried searching for it in Bahrain and Dubai but I haven’t found it! I hope it hasn’t been discontinued. I tried the Master Eraser Concealer and it doesn’t even compare. It’s really watery and doesn’t cover as well as the Master Corrector.

This is a tough one! It’s really hard to choose one favorite lipstick because I have different favorites at various times. I think I will have to choose Bobbi Brown’s ‘Sandwash Pink’. I have used this lipstick for years and can’t get enough of it for a natural look. I also can’t get enough of Tom Ford’s ‘Indian Rose’ – as it’s a perfect everyday lipstick. Tom Ford’s lipsticks are extremely moisturizing and pigmented – which is exactly what you want in a lipstick! During the fall and winter, Revlon’s ‘Hollywood Red’ is definitely my go-to lipstick.

I was really in between Urban Decay’s Naked palette and Kat Von D’s True Romance Eyeshadow Palette in ‘Saint’. I couldn’t decide, so I choose both as my favorites! The Naked Palette is my go-to palette for a neutral look. I like using Kat Von D’s palette for a brown smokey eye.

Benefit’s They’re Real! Mascara has been my favorite mascara this year! I love that it lengthens my lashes without any clumps. I wouldn’t say the mascara makes me look like I’m wearing false lashes, but that could be due to my short lashes. Either way, I love the effect of this mascara!

Laura Mercier’s Oil-free Foundation Primer – This foundation primer helps make your make-up last longer. I like that it’s oil-free and doesn’t break out my skin. This primer also lasts a long time. I’ve had the same tube from a year and a half ago and there’s still plenty!

Too Faced Shadow Insurance Anti-Crease Eyeshadow Primer – I’ve been using this product for years and can’t get enough of it. It really makes your eyeshadow stay put and helps enhance the color! A primer will make all the difference in your eye look!

Illamasqua ‘Ambition’ – I’m a huge fan of Illamasqua. Their blushes in particular are highly pigmented and last all day! I’m not a fan of touching up my make-up throughout the day, so I like to set my make-up from the morning and make sure it will last throughout the day. When I apply any Illamasqua blush, I don’t have to worry about my blush disappearing! This blush in particular is a coral pink with shimmer. I like that the shimmer is subtle and isn’t over-the-top.

Yves Saint Laurent Baby Doll Eyeliner – I love YSL’s liquid eyeliners and this has been my favorite of 2013. I like how it’s so easy to create a thin line close to my lashline and it’s easy to create the perfect winged eyeliner.

This is extremely hard too because I change my nail polish frequently! I had to choose Essie’s ‘French Love Affair’ for the perfect pink and Essie’s ‘Fifth Avenue’ for the perfect shade of red. I always gravitate towards pink and red for my nails!

I have really been loving Lush’s Herbalism. It’s a powder cleanser and all you need is a tiny bit. You mix it with water and once it lathers, you massage it onto your skin, then rinse. When my skin is sensitive, I like using QV’s Cleanser.

I can’t live without Bioderma’s Crealine H20 Micellar Solution. I finish at least one bottle of this product a month. It really is the best way to remove all of my make-up.

Lately, I’ve been using Eucerin’s Dermo Purifyer Moisturizer. It is oil and fragrance free. It is formulated for dehydrated skin due to the treatment of acne. I like that this moisturizer has SPF 30 so I tend to skip sunscreen when I apply this in the morning.

Jo Malone Velvet Rose & Oud – I can’t get enough of this perfume! I always receive compliments about my scent when I have this perfume on. It is definitely my favorite 2013 scent!
