It’s officially awards season! 2014 kicked off with the People’s Choice Awards. I must admit there were more ‘misses’ than ‘hits’ at this award show. I was just expecting celebrities to take better fashion risks during such awards. Continue reading to find out the best and worst dressed in my opinion!
Best Dressed List
Nina Dobrev in Jenny Packham – this is hands-down, my favorite look! I absolutely love this dress – it perfectly fits her like a glove. I love that the embellishments are all on one side, which doesn’t overpower the dress. Her hair is pulled back which is best so the focus can remain on the dress itself. Her make-up is also flawless! Nina Dobrev can always work a red carpet!
Sarah Michelle Gellar in Sachin + Babi – Though this isn’t my favorite dress, I like this silhouette on her. Monochrome is timeless, and she works it well!
Queen Latifah in Angela Dean – Queen Latifah rocked this dress! I think it’s extremely flattering on her body, and this style will suit most body shapes. I love the heels with this dress as well. A simple LBD dress – can’t go wrong with that!
Jessica Alba in Jason Wu – I wasn’t sure how I felt about this dress at first, but when I saw how she glided on the stage in this dress, I knew it was a hit. As always, Jessica looks sexy and sultry. I love that her hair and make-up is simple and understated, which completes this sleek look.
Jennifer Hudson in Kaufmanfranco – This dress is simple yet elegant. It really accentuates Jennifer’s curves in all the right places. She looks gorgeous and I’m surprisingly digging the pixie cut on her! I’m just not a fan of the shoes.
Worst Dressed List
Naya Rivera in Michael Kors – Naya received a lot of attention for this dress. I love stripes but not really on the red carpet. I wasn’t a fan of this dress and I didn’t like the shape of the high-low.
Lucy Hale in Gabrielle Kadonna – I usually love to see Lucy’s outfits but this dress was a huge disappointment. The space and floral print isn’t nice and the dress is something a thirteen-year-old would wear.
Melissa Joan Hart in El Lay – This strapless hi-low dress would be perfect for a prom dress. For an awards ceremony – not so much. I’m not opposed to the print, but this dress just doesn’t work. It’s not even flattering on her.
Kat Dennings in David Meister – I love florals but this is just florals gone wrong. The red roses in the black background just looks too goth. I really don’t like this dress! This is definitely the worst dress of them all in my opinion. As much as I don’t like this dress, it still suits her.
Anna Faris in Rue McClanahan – What is this supposed to be? This beaded pant suit makes Anna look washed out. This outfit looks like embellished pajamas. How about you save this outfit for a night in Anna!
Heidi Klum in Giorgio Armani – I expected more from the Project Runway Host. The rhinestones make this dress look cheap. However, this silhouette suits Heidi.
Malin Akerman in Cushnie Et Ochs – First of all, the T-line cut-out bears way too much cleavage. It’s a bit awkward-looking and centimetres away from a wardrobe malfunction. Second of all, the print of this dress is terrible. It looks like a five year old sketched it.
