July Hits & Misses

Sigma Small Tapered Blending Brush in E45 – I started using this brush for my crease and I’ve been loving it. It is a perfect crease brush, and I like how it blends as you apply it. If you love make-up you must try this brush!

Coastal Scents Revealed Palette – This eyeshadow palette is a dupe for Urban Decay’s Naked Palette. I’ve used the Naked Palette for years and surprisingly I’ve been loving this palette more than the Naked palette. The eyeshadows are more pigmented, especially the shimmery shades. I also like that it comes with 20 eyeshadows, which makes this palette perfect for traveling.

Garancia Diabolique Water Cream – If you read my Paris Make-up & Skin Care Haul post, you know that I picked this up in Paris. This water cream claims to be 24-hour moisturizing, along with anti-aging and radiance actives. I’ve started using this product and I love that it instantly adds a glow to my skin and I especially love the light texture. This ‘devilishly pulpy’ product is naturally orange (from the tomato) and is paraben-free and phenoxyethanol-free.

Nars Bronzer in Laguna – As mentioned in my haul,  I haven’t used this bronzer in a few years and decided to try it out again. I really love how glowy my skin looks with this bronzer. It’s no wonder it’s a beauty guru must-have!

Vichy Dermablend Corrective Stick in Opal 15 – You know I’m a fan of this brand if you read my Paris Make-up & Skin Care Haul. I’ve tried a similar corrective stick and absolutely love it. It has SPF30, it’s non-comodegenic, hypo-allergenic, and paraben-free. It doesn’t quite get better than that! I like concealers or foundations that don’t clog your pores and make you break out. This is especially good for acne-prone skin because it will conceal your imperfections without breaking you out. Though this shade is darker than my skin tone, I still love it for covering up any imperfections.

Snails Nail Polish – I grew to love these nail polishes throughout Ramadan, since it’s non-toxic, parabens-free, and water-based. This child-friendly nail polish can be easily removed with water and dries faster than a regular nail polish. This classic red shade is in “Love Is…”  and it’s perfect for those of us who like to have polished nails but also want to pray without any nail polish. I keep these nail polishes handy when my niece wants a manicure.

Clinique Color Balm in Super Strawberry, Mighty Mimosa and Two Ton Tomato: After falling in love with the intense version of this product, I figured I’d try the original one as I was certain it would be just as nice. I picked up a pack of these three at the airport, and after trying each one I was disappointed. The balms are super sheer, and look like a lip balm/gloss we’d use as teens.

Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner Marker:  I’ve never been a fan of eyeliner marker pens but when I saw this new product I decided to give it one more chance. The first try it was satisfactory, but it took me a much longer time to apply me eyeliner, especially for a cat-eye. It is slightly easier to get a precise cat-eye (while using this product both my eyes looks pretty much the same) however, after only two uses I felt like the product dried up instantly. The liner was less smooth (and yes it showed on my eyes) and the color became much lighter, almost a dark grey black. I continued to use this product throughout July but I really can’t stand it anymore and will probably throw it out.
